Jieshan Qiu, Cheung-Kong Distinguished Professor of Carbon Science and Chemical Engineering at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, China. His research encompasses both fundamental and applied aspects of carbon materials and science, with a focus on the methodologies of producing carbon materials for energy storage and conversion, catalysis, and environment protection. Giuseppe Trusso Sfrazzetto achieved the PhD in Chemical Sciences on 2011, discussing the thesis entitled "Design and synthesis of novel macrocyclic cavitands". During his post doc activity, he developed new fluorescent organic receptors able to detect intracellular metal ions involved in some important neurodegenerative diseases (i.e. Parkinson and Alzheimer). He is Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry in the Department of Chemical Sciences, in the University of Catania. His research interest is focused on supramolecular chemistry and sensing.

Prof. Thomas J. Webster’s (H index: 136) degrees are in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh (B.S., 1995; USA) and in biomedical engineering from RPI (Ph.D., 2000; USA). He has formed over a dozen companies who have numerous FDA approved medical products currently improving human health in over 30,000 patients. His technology is also being used in commercial products to improve sustainability and renewable energy. He is currently helping those companies and serves as a professor at Brown University, Saveetha University, Hebei University of Technology, UFPI, and others.
