Prof. Young Soo Kang is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry and a director in Nanostructured Material Lab. at the Sogang University. He has working as review panel members of ACS, Wiley Science and Elsevier Chemistry Journals. He received the BSc and the MSc degree in Chemistry from Pusan National University, Busan, Korea in 1984 and 1986 and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Houston, U.S.A in 1992, postdoctoral fellow at University of California at Berkeley and Stanford Unievrsity, respectively, for his work on Nanomaterials and Surfactant Related Materials Chemistry. Current research interests are focused on the synthesis and application of nanostructured materials for IT and Energy Related Fields. He has published over 170 journals from ACS, Wiley Science and Elsevier.

Professor Juan Matos Lale completed his PhD in Surface Physics and Chemistry through the Franco-Venezuelan Postgraduate Cooperation Program between the École Centrale de Lyon (France) and the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research in 1999, studying the "Influence of Carbon Materials on Heterogeneous Photocatalytic Reactions and Solar Nanotechnology." He is a co-founder and director of the Chilean Association of Carbon Materials and a co-founder of the Latin American Carbon Federation, of which he was President (2016-2018). He was Director (2017-2020) of the Franco-Chilean Network for Biochar Valorization for Energy and Environmental Remediation. From 2015 to 2019, he was a Professor in the Energy Postgraduate Program and the Faculty of Chemical Sciences at the University of Concepción (UdeC), and a Bioenergy Researcher at the Technological Development Unit (UDT) of the same university. In 2020, he joined the Institute of Applied Chemical Sciences at the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad Autónoma de Chile as a permanent Senior Professor and Academic. There, he leads the Smart NanoMat group, which has begun developing and characterizing various types of nanomaterials, including semiconductors, hybrid materials, and carbon materials such as activated carbon, biocarbons, foams, glassy carbons, nanotubes, and graphene, among others. He also studies heteroatom-doped systems for evaluation in the production and storage of clean energy, such as hydrogen production, solar cells, fuel cells, photocatalytic processes for environmental remediation (primarily of contaminated water and air), and the production of solar fuels. Professor Matos is currently also an adjunct professor at the Millennium Nucleus in Catalytic Processes for Sustainable Chemistry (CSC). He has given approximately 271 presentations at conferences, including 88 plenary sessions, keynote addresses, and invited lectures. He has a total of 222 publications, of which more than 87 articles have been published in high-impact journals and serial books, 2 patents, more than 2500 citations and an H factor of 24. He has developed different international research projects and collaborative technological application with Mexico, Spain and France, as he has been and is director of projects with Chilean funds such as FONDEF-IDEA, CORFO-INNOVA, FAE-SEREMI, FONDECYT, among others.

Jieshan Qiu, Cheung-Kong Distinguished Professor of Carbon Science and Chemical Engineering at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, China. His research encompasses both fundamental and applied aspects of carbon materials and science, with a focus on the methodologies of producing carbon materials for energy storage and conversion, catalysis, and environment protection. He has published 1000+ papers in peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Mater., Nature Catal., Adv. Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., Adv. Energy Mater., Energy Environ. Sci., PNAS, Nature Commun., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Chem. Soc. Rev., etc., with citations of 82600+ times and h-index of 142 (google scholar), and his work has been featured on 70 covers of international journals. He has been invited to give 200+ plenary/invited/keynote talks in conferences and at universities and research institutes. He has filed 200+ Chinese and International patents. He has been honored with 30+ prestigious awards and prizes including the First-class award for fundamental research and industrialization technologies from the Education Ministry of China and Liaoning Province. He is a highly cited researcher by Clarivate Analytics from 2018 to 2025 and by Elsevier from 2019 to 2024 in the field of chemical engineering science and listed in the top 0.05% Highly Ranked Scholars™ both in lifetime and prior five-year list from 2024 to 2025. Right now, he is the Associate Editor of Battery Energy (Wiley), Chemical Engineering Science (Elsevier). Previously, he has served the Associate Editor of other international journals, including Carbon (Elsevier), FlatChem (Elsevier) and ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering (ACS).

Giuseppe Trusso Sfrazzetto achieved the PhD in Chemical Sciences on 2011, discussing the thesis entitled "Design and synthesis of novel macrocyclic cavitands". During his post doc activity, he developed new fluorescent organic receptors able to detect intracellular metal ions involved in some important neurodegenerative diseases (i.e. Parkinson and Alzheimer). He is Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry in the Department of Chemical Sciences, in the University of Catania. His research interest is focused on supramolecular chemistry and sensing.
